This privacy policy specifies how we (Contribtr.com) collect, disclose, store, and use personal data from our customers, partners, and visitors when you use our website or sign-up on any of our services.
As a user, you accept this Privacy Policy when you sign up for use of any of our services, contents, features, or technologies offered on our website and application.
Who We Are
Contribtr.com (also referred to as “we”, “our”, and “us”) is a Nigerian based peer savings contribution enterprise that facilitates online savings and contribution schemes among friends, colleagues, or neighbors.
What Personal Data We Collect
We collect Personal Information also referred to as Personal Data from you. They include (and not limited to): name, gender, date of birth, email address, phone number, contact address, employment data, financial & bank information, location data, device data, etc.
How We Collect Personal Data
Personal data are collected electronically when you visit our website and/or sign-up on our App to use any of our services. This is collected through electronic exchanges between your system (Computer, Server, Mobile Device) and any of our platforms (Website, Email, Phone, App, and Server).
Website
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
When you send us emails, we collect personal data such as name, email address, and location.
Phone
We also collect personal data such as name, phone number, etc when you call our 24hrs customer support centre.
Social Media
Personal data are also collected from our social media platforms when our customers make requests, complaints, and/or enquires about our services.

We collect personal information for the purpose of providing users of Contribtr services with a hitch-free, secured, and efficient customer experience.
The information collected may be used by us to offer our services, process transactions, reply queries, verify identity, prevent fraud, send notifications, collect charged fees, resolve disputes, and offer promotional services based on your perceived interest.
We may contact you through your email or mobile number for notifications regarding your account, requests, inquiries, and promotions. We do not sell or rent or exchange your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. We may combine your information with information we collect from your financial institutions and use it to improve and personalize our services and contents.
Additionally, we may also contact you as necessary to enforce our policies, applicable law, or any agreement we may have with you. When contacting you via phone to reach you as efficiently as possible we may use your consent to receive, auto dialed or prerecorded calls and text messages. Where applicable and permitted by law, you may decline to receive certain communications.
Should you decide not to continue receiving promotional emails from us, kindly “unsubscribe” from our email list by contacting us as indicated below or by using the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any of our emails. If you unsubscribe from receiving emails from us, we may still send you non-promotional emails, such as emails about your contribtr account or transaction notifications, unless you withdraw your consent to receive electronic communications from us.
How We Protect Personal Data
Contribtr uses reasonable security measures to protect the confidentiality of personal data under our control and appropriately limit access to it. We cannot ensure or warrant the security of any data you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Contribtr uses a variety of information security measures to protect your online transactions on our application. Our App uses encryption technology, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), to protect your personal information during data transport. SSL protects information you submit via our websites such as ordering information, including your name, email address and your payment details.
How We Share Your Personal Data
Contribtr is committed to adequately protecting users from any form of fraud or exploitation either from outside or within our contributor community. We may share information such as name, email address, phone number, contact address, and office address with other participants within the same private contribution group. However, such information isn’t made available to other participants who didn’t fall within the same contribution series. The essence of which is for security purposes, and to ensure that all participant within a private group is familiar with each other.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our website, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
When you log in on our App, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our App, we also store the personal information which you provided on their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).
Your Rights Regarding Your Data
You can review, edit, and update your personal data at any time by logging in to your account on our App and reviewing your account settings and profile.
If you choose to deactivate your account through our App, we’ll tag your account in our database as “Deactivated”, but may retain personal information from your account for a certain period of time to collect any fees owed, resolve disputes, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, prevent fraud/exploitation, enforce our User Agreement, or take other actions as required or permitted by law.
Where we send your data
The personal data we collect is encrypted and stored at a highly secured server. Visitor comments on our website may also be checked through an automated spam detection service.
